idk if this is the reaction i should be having to mad men season 1
but i just watched episode 10 and i find myself caring so much less about don draper’s various affairs and personal bullshit (and roger sterling’s, too, really) and so much more about the working of the office/peggy’s career prospects. i really like the show and think it’s great i just don’t know how much i can care about the philandering. it’s well-written but not entirely compelling, frankly. at least in breaking bad when walt does shitty things that betray his family there’s a kind of specious reasoning at work which justifies it. don is just kinda being a dick for his own sake.
